Mercedes-Benz 2011 Corporate Run

Perfect weather: beautiful sunshine, a light breeze, and a bright blue sky showed up on March 24th for the Corporate Run. Tents took over the streets of downtown and running shoes instead of tires met the asphalt. Sponsors had refreshments, food, goodies and trinkets for their race team bearing their corporate logo as they raced through the streets.

This was the 14th year for the Ft. Lauderdale Corporate Run. The run itself is a 3.1 mile (5k fo you Europeans) road race/walk open to employees of corporations, government agencies and financial institutions. The event occurred business hours when the sun had already made it's way to the horizon. There was no limit on the number of participants, and this was evident by the participation. Employees form teams and competed within their categories. Present, were all levels of runners from seasoned athletes to mom's with baby carriages.

Riju and George's union was an absolute joy to behold. The subtleties in the differences of the sub-cultures of Indian weddings always keeps me on my toes.

George arrived on a gorgeous white horse bearing the traditional sword. The moonlit ceremony provided some lighting challenges, but set mood perfectly for the evening.
